URPoint Details
A little hilly island only 4 miles long and 2 miles wide and sheltering Oban Bay with fine views of Mull, Loch Linnhe and the Firth of Lorne.
Alexander II died here in 1249 while preparing for battle and Dalrigh ‘King's Field' and the King's Well are also here.
At the south end of the island is the ruins of Gylen Castle once a stronghold of the Clan MacDougalls of Lorne.
