The fine, restored Norman to Perpendicular Church of St Mary the Virgin, built by John of Gaunt, has a central tower, large Perpendicular north and south windows and weather vanes on all the crocketed pinnacles. On the walls of the nave are framed Puritan texts. It is a grade I listed building
