A most attractive Border town by the River Tweed with fine buildings including the Market Square and the Rennie Bridge dating from 1803.
The town has many historical associations including visits from Mary, Queen of Scots, Prince Charles Edward and Scott lived here in 1783.
There are some fine houses in the area including Springwood Park dated 1756, and Wooden House above Kelso Bridge from 1761.
