A secluded village built around its green and nearby you can enjoy the scenery among the Chiltern beech woods.
History has made the village famous for it is here that William Penn the Quaker the founder of Pennsylvania lies buried.
The little brick Friends’ Meeting House was built in 1687 and the unvarnished deal benches still stand on a plain brick floor.
The walls are decorated with portraits, autographs and other reminders of the pioneers of the time.
In the graveyard are simple headstones recording the names of the Friends buried there and include William Penn and his two wives, Mary and Isaac Pennington and Joseph Rule.
