John Wesley was born in 1703 and died in 1791 the 15th of 19 children. The house was rebuilt in 1709 after a fire destroyed it but still contains furniture used by the family.
John founded the Methodist Church and his father Samuel was the rector at the parish church. The church is a large stone church built in 1889, and Samuel is buried in the churchyard.
Charles Wesley was born here in 1704 and died 1788. He aided his brother John to found Methodism.
