John Nash born 18 January 1752. He was a British Architect responsible for much of the layout of Regency London under the patronage of George IV.

His most famous designs are the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, Brighton between 1815 and 1822, Buckingham Palace, between 1825 and1830, Clarence House between 1825 and 1827 and the Marble Arch in 1828.

He died 13 May 1835 at his home East Cowes Castle. His funeral took place at St James’s Church, East Cowes on 20 May 1835, where he was buried in the churchyard.
