URPoint Details
A little place relatively unknown except for one of its famous sons. Jim Clark, the racing car driver, was born in Chirnside on March 4 , 1936 and died in Hockenheim on April 7, 1968. There is lovely little bronze statue on a quiet road marking this famous Scot's career.
He became Formula 1 World Champion twice and was considered by many as the greatest driver of all time.
He won 25 Grand Prix events and there is a museum dedicated to him in Duns.
