URPoint Details
A lovely island between Barra and South Uist with some famous connections one of which is where in 1744 Bonnie Prince Charlie first set foot on Scottish soil.
The second is that in 1941 the SS Politica ran aground off the island carrying a large cargo of whisky.
The population although small are mainly fishermen and crofters.
The island has its own strain of pony, and is often visited by colonies of seals.
