Picturesque Lochranza Village, at the north end of the Island is the location of Arran's first legal distillery for more than 170 years!
Until the beginning of the 19th century, when whisky-making was legalised, Arran was renown across Scotland for producing the finest Malt, known locally as the 'Arran Water'.
Today, the Isle of Arran distillery produces the Arran Single Malt, already highly regarded by whisky lovers and writers alike, and destined to become one of Scotland\'s great Malts!
Enjoy an interesting visit to the distillery where you can see this Malt in production. The visitor Centre, opened by H M the Queen in 1977, offers guided tours, an all-day restaurant, and shop where you can purchase the acclaimed Arran Single Malt, and other interesting and attractive gifts.
