Isabella Mary Beeton (nee Mayson) born 12 March 1836 became a household name by thousands of newly married ladies. She was the author of the famous Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management and is one of the most famous cookery writers. Not only did she include cooking recipes in her book, but it contained so many helpful handy hints still in use today.
The day after the birth of her fourth child, in January 1865, Isabella contracted puerperal fever, and died a week later on 6 February 1865, Both Mrs Beeton and her husband Samuel are buried in West Norwood Cemetery, South London
