Situated a little inland from the sandy coast of the Firth of Clyde with moors to the southeast.
Ardgowan House was built in 1798, Inverkip Castle dates from the 15th century.
The white painted Clochpoint lighthouse was built in 1797and stands on Cloch Point overlooking the outer Clyde estuary opposite the busy holiday resort of Dunoon.
