URPoint Details
This royal burgh is one of the most beautifully laid out on the edge of Loch Fine.
A tall Celtic Cross stands at the head of the quay and from the gateway beside the Argyll Arms a shady beech tree avenue stretches as far as Essachosan Gorge a beautiful spot.
The Old Parish church dates from 1806, and the Old Town House from 1753 when it was used as a Customs House.
The fantastic fairy like 18th century castle of Inveraray has been home to the Dukes of Argyll for generations. The armoury should not be missed.
