URPoint Details
A village where the Leithen Water meets the Tweed with the first tweed mill built in 1790.
The village became a tourist attraction 40 years later after Sir Walter Scott published his novel ‘St Ronan’s Well’, in which he described the ‘Doo Well’, a local well.
The Cuddy Bridge over the River Tweed is interesting and the old church is ancient and there are prehistoric forts on the hills.
