No dogs allowed; ample, easy parking, but descent to house quite steep and unsuitable for wheelchairs. Please ask ticket seller to arrange gated entrance adjoining shop on south of property to be unlocked. Arrangements can be made to park cars close to this entrance. Garden: parts are readily accessible with gravel paths. Woodland Estate walk: accessible to wheelchair users, combination for lock and details of parking nearby from ticket hut when house is open. Conservation exhibition is also accessible. Shop in car with level access. Shop in Old Coach House on two floors. Many items to enjoy by touch. Toilets and wheelchairs available.
The house is very busy on Sundays and Bank Holidays between 2-4pm visitors are asked to avoid these times if possible.
Beyond the lawn is an area planted with a mix of native and exotic trees interspersed with paths. There is a long border near the house crammed with traditional English flowers such as sweet Williams, roses and pinks. The paved fountain garden to the left of the entrance drive has been restored with a lily pool, fountain and pinks and rock roses in the crevices of the paving.
