URPoint Details

No facilities on site, pub and village shop close by, parking in village. Disabled access to ground floor only steep wooden stairs. Many items may be enjoyed by touch.
A mill has stood on the river Ouse for nearly one thousand years. The large timber 17th century watermill mill is a wonderful rectangular brick building which has been restored and is located two miles downstream from Huntingdon.
The interior still has grindstones which have the letters B and G. These stand for Potto Brown and Joseph Goodman, who were both millers and philanthropists. Most of the trapdoors, chutes and storage bins are still intact. Climb the steep wooden stairs for a magnificent view of the countryside. Much of the 19th century machinery is intact and is operational on milling days, every Sunday from April to end August, when corn is ground and the flour sold. An art gallery displays the works of local artists.
