URPoint Details
This delightful inn, with its timbered bar is reputedly to be the oldest in England dating back 1,000 years. Parts of the original inn still remain and the fireplace is a wonderful relic from the past and has a window in it.
The gravestone which forms part of the floor near the fireplace is that of Juliette Tewsley who hanged herself and is said to still wait for her lover. Have a couple of pints and see if you can hear young Juliette. The views to the river and garden are most enjoyable.
