Holyhead has been a main port for Dublin and a seafaring base as far back as 2000BC.
Salt Island at the entrance to the harbour is where salt was extracted in the 18th century.
The Lighthouse at South Stack Island was built by Daniel Alexander in 1808 and although now automated can still be seen as far as 20miles out at sea.
Many birds including puffin nest on the island and seals breed on the beaches.
