URPoint Details
The two villages of North and south are set in forest land with a common of about 600 acres.
Just north of the village on the Horsham road is a memorial to Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, a member of the American family of millionaires who was drowned in the sinking of the Titanic.
He sacrificed his life by giving his life-jacket to a woman passenger.
He had fallen in love with this part of surrey and spent much of his last 20 years of his life here.
