This unspoilt village is situated in the beautiful Clivger Gorge.
The church is of particular interest and the burial place of several notable Burnley people, including General Scarlett who led the charge of the Heavy Brigade at Balaclava, Lady Scarlett, Lady O'Hagan the last resident of Towneley Hall, and several members of the Towneley family.
