Hall open daily except Friday & Saturday from the beginning of June to the end of September between 1.30 and 5pm also open Bank Holidays. Gardens Open throughout the year 10am to 5pm.
Thomas William Coke built the great Palladian Holkham Hall in the 1730's in a park enclosed by eight miles of wall. It was inherited by his great nephew Thomas William Roberts who took the family name and became famous as the great agriculturist Coke of Norfolk and in 1837 became Earl of Leicester. The Hall boasts some 2000 years and 7 generations of living history, fine art, paintings and furniture.
The Bygones Museum has over 4000 items of years gone by. The lakeside walk with acres of picnic areas and 18th century walled garden are wonderful.
The Nature Reserve has grazing marshes, pine planted sand dunes and salt water marshes.
