URPoint Details
Situated in the hinterland of the north Norfolk coast, is an ancient village where the older houses are built of flint or brick and are arranged within the village’s five manors. The main street runs from north to south between Binham and Thursford.
One of the very first written records in East Anglia is a mention of Hindringham in the will of a Saxon bishop of North Elmham. The largest manor in the village was that of the Dean and Chapter of Norwich.
St Martin's Church in the centre of the village has records dating from 1301. The high tower and windows date from the 15th century.
