URPoint Details
A partly ivy-covered pillar marks the spot, which was the Roman settlement of Venones, situated at the intersection of two famous Roman roads of Watling Street and the original Fosse Way. The pillar was erected in 1712 and was at one time thought to mark the centre of England.
