Henry VIII was born 28 June 1491 at Greenwich Palace, Greenwich.
He came to the throne on 21 April 1509 and reigned until his death on 28 January 1547. He died on 28 January 1547 (aged 55) at the Palace of Whitehall. He was buried on 4 February 1547 at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle
His first wife was his brothers widow Catherine of Aragon. Catherine had five children, but only Mary lived.
He then married Anne Boleyn (beheaded at 8 am on 19 May 1536), Jane Seymour (died on 24 October 1537 from an infection from childbirth), Anne of Cleves marriage was dissolved, Catherine Howard was executed on 13 February 1542, and Catherine Parr who outlived the King died 5 September 1548.
His children included Mary I of England, Elizabeth I of England, Edward VI of England and Henry FitzRoy, 1st Duke of Richmond and Somerset.
