A picturesque and compact little village on the river Lark, with cottages of thatch and flint.
Hengrave Hall is a delightful Tudor mansion built in the mid 1500's. In the grounds is a lovely and fascinating little church with a round Saxon tower.
The 15th century St John Lateran’s Church has a tower less than 13ft in diameter and is probably pre-Conquest in date. The rest of the church is of a later date with a great collection of monuments.
To the north is West Stow Hall, an ancient house, with a curious arcaded gatehouse.
