Hembury Fort - Broadhembury

A fine pre-historic earthwork on a steep wooded hill where excavations have revealed that the fort was a Neolithic settlement of about 3,000BC and was resettled and used by Iron Age dwellers until Roman times, almost 2,000 years later.
Archaeologists have also uncovered traces of a huge western gateway and cobbled causeway.
