Helvellyn's Walk - Patterdale

From Patterdale, climbers set out to attack Helvellyn's 3118ft summit.
The experienced climber makes for Striding Edge above Red Tarn, but an easier assent is from Thirlpot.

Both routes to the summit are about three miles long. Once at the top, the views are unforgettable as almost every fell in Lakeland, the Pennines in the east and the Scottish mountains some 60 miles to the north can be seen in one sweeping vista.
