URPoint Details
A row of cottages known as Frenchmen's Row dated 1796 was once occupied by French priests fleeing from the Revolution. A sundial commemorates their departure in 1802.
Near the River Tyne is a stone dated 1785, showing the arms of Newcastle, and marking the jurisdiction of the port for over 600 years.
A section of the Roman Wall is visible on the south side of the main road.
