The village was formerly two hamlets, the name Heath refers to the heathland of the area and Reach refers to ‘a stretch of land’.
There are some lovely old timbered and thatch buildings and on the green is a small well house with clock tower built in 1863. The four foot wheel which was used to draw water can still be seen through the iron grill window.
