Still impressive externally, with its late 13th century walls and towers probably built by William de Valence.
The castle was burnt in 1405 by Owen Glendower's French allies of a force of 800 men-at-arms, 600 crossbowmen and 1,200 infantry who had landed at Milford Haven from 120 ships.
