URPoint Details
A small but charming market town with a steep main street and many picturesque country walks through woods. The George Hotel probably dates from the 15th century.
On Hatherleigh Moor is a monument dated 1860 and dedicated to Lieutenant C Morris who was a hero in the battle of Balaclava who survived the famous Charge of the Light Brigade.
This area is popular with anglers as there are three streams to fish.
