The village has a unique building known as Dr Sharpe’s Tower. It is a castellated tower that was built to house the village schoolmaster on an upper floor reached by an exterior staircase, with the schoolroom below and stables for the village hearse. There is an elegant Georgian vicarage which has a 13th century pele tower built into it.
The church has a squat tower dating from the late 12th century and carved on a doorpost are 2 daggers and a Maltese cross.
