Harrogate is famous as a spa town with spring water containing iron and sulphur once known to cure many medical conditions.
There are many lovely Victorian buildings including the Pump Room dating from 1804 and the Royal Baths from 1897.
There are many fine gardens in the town including Valley Gardens, Harlow Car Gardens and the 200 acres common called The Tray.
Tewit Well is the oldest medicinal spring in town, standing on the Stray.
