URPoint Details
Designed to relieve the congestion of London in 1947, this New Town has set residential and industrial areas. Its long history still survives though, in the rural parishes that surround The High, its modern centre.
The church of St Mary the Virgin has many fine brasses dating back to the early 15th century.
The Gables and the Chantry are both 16th century. The Stafford Almshouses are 17th century.
