URPoint Details
The village takes its name from the Hanmer family whose seat is at nearby Bettisfield.
In the lovely sandstone church although badly damaged by fire in 1889 the walls and tower survived. There is a window depicting the four evangelists Mathew, Mark, Luke and John commemorating the consecration in 1936 by Sir Edward Hanmer.
