Handa Isle Nature Reserve

This tiny island to the northwest of Scourie Bay is separated from the mainland by the narrow Sound of Handa, reached by boat from Scourie where the red Torridon sandstone cliffs of 400ft high which command a fine view of the mainland mountains in the lonely Forest of Reay. Handa is preserved as a sanctuary for sea fowl.
