Hammersmith

Although main roads converge at Hammersmith Broadway, the riverside is only a few hundred yards away and provides a quiet walk to Chiswick Mall.
The bank opposite is lined with trees and the towpath is dotted with 18th century houses, inns and boat-houses.

Possibly best known for the fabulous Hammersmith Odeon Theatre, now re-named the HMV Hammersmith Apollo,  scene of many great live theatre, comedy and music performances -- including perhaps its most famous album recorded here in 1981:  Black Sabbath live at the Hammersmith Odeon.
