URPoint Details
Once a quiet fishing village at the mouth of the River Hamble it still retains character and charm, even though heavy industry has been added to the mix. From the wharf a steep street leads to the square and eventually the green.
There was a Benedictine Priory here in 1109 but the chancel of the church of St Andrew served the monks
Famous for its yachting especially in July at the time of the regatta.
