URPoint Details
Once a mining town, on the River South Tyne, has an interesting, towerless 13th century church with three fine 14th century carved gravestones in the sanctuary.
The ruins of Bellister Castle stand outside the town and to the west is Blenkinsopp Castle built in 1339.
To the southwest is Featherstone Castle an ancient structure, rebuilt in Jacobean times.
