URPoint Details
Haddenham, only three miles from Thame along the Aylesbury road, is an extensive village with a great deal of modern residential development.
However, a large number of older houses survive, especially near the green.
Haddenham Hall is of the 18th century, Grenville Manor of 1569 and both the Beehive and Dolphin Inns have 18th century fronts.
The 13th century church is of interest and includes good examples of early stained glass and a well carved Norman font.
‘Wichert’ – a local building material is dug from a bed of chalky marl just below the surface, then soaked in water, mixed with straw was used to build walls.
