URPoint Details
A village with a Hall, an 11th century church and at the meeting place of several tributaries of the River Derwent.
Becks rib this glorious countryside with tiny dales, converging on the main stream. On one side are the moors, and on the other the side the forest. These deep coniferous forests, broken by pastureland change the character of the moors.
From Langdale End, 2 miles up the valley the road climbs steeply to Bickley from which a Forestry Commission road leads through the forests to Thonton Vale in the Vale of Pickering.
