Guildford Cathedral of the Holy Spirit

This is the only cathedral to have been built on an entirely new site in the south of England since the Reformation.
The foundation stone was laid in 1936 and built in the Gothic style and was not completed until 1961 and was consecrated on May 17 of that year.
The building is cruciform and the bricks are made of local clay, the roof is copper and the tower stands 160ft high and surmounted by a gilded angel.
