In the centre of the picturesque village backed by fields and the River Wye lies this fabulous 15th century Black and White coaching inn.
The inn itself is full of character, has two bars, two restaurants and a large attractive garden facing south over open country and the river. Among other nourishment, the inn offers three traditional ales and draught cider from the wood. Arthur & Margaret place great emphasis on the quality of food served at civilised prices and an informal and friendly atmosphere. An extensive bar food menu is available morning and evenings and dinners a-la-carte are served in the restaurant. Fresh food is used wherever possible, traditionally cooked. There is an interesting sign over the entrance which reads 'You travel far. You travel near, its here you find the best of beer. You pass the East. You pass the West, if you pass this you pass the best".
This ancient black and white timbered inn (1485) provides an ideal base for exploring a country of truly outstanding natural beauty.
There is splendid walking along the riverbank, over hills and through woods with fishing, horse riding and golf all nearby.
