URPoint Details
The village lies in the delightful Wylye valley with steeply roofed cottages some dating from 1628, cluster round the interesting parish church of St Giles, with its battlemented 15th century tower and Norman font. An interesting item in the east wall is a record of the price of bread from 1800 to 1948. The first recorded in 1800 is 3s 4d per gallon and a reminder of how bread was sold.
