URPoint Details
The Church of St Cuthbert dates from the 14th century and has a massive 14th century ivy-clad fortified tower. The south doorway, sheltered by a porch is a fine example of Norman work with heavy dog-tooth carving. A sword and some armour discovered in 1644 after the Civil War hang on the west wall. The chancel and arch were restored in 1866. There are 6 bells hung for full-circle ringing.
