URPoint Details
Attractive houses and cottages in red sandstone cluster around the ancient church.
The church dedicated to St Cuthbert dates from the 14th century and has an ivy-clad tower. The south doorway, sheltered by a porch is a fine example of Norman work with heavy dog-tooth carving. A sword and some armour discovered in 1644 after the Civil War hang on the west wall.
