A little village in the Lee Valley with a Norman church and willows overhanging a pool lying in a hollow is complete with beautiful swans.
There is a monument to Sir Hugh Myddelton, who, in 1609, began the New River scheme to provide London with better water.
Robert Mylne, who is buried in the churchyard erected the monument in 1800.
There are several large houses of different styles and periods and the church has a Norman apse.
