Henry Graham Greene, OM, CH born 2 October 1904 was an English author, playwright and literary critic. He wrote such revered novels as The Third Man, and Brighton Rock, along with many others made into movies.
Greene, who spied for Britain himself, died on 3 April 1991 in Vevey, Switzerland.
The Graham Greene International Festival is held here at Berkhamstead annually, on the weekend closest to the author's birthday.
