URPoint Details
Recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, as 'Grastone', the village has preserved and retained individuality throughout the years, and no doubt heavily disturbed during the last war, has now returned to its rural tranquillity.
On the edge of the village can be seen an 18th century well head. Several small bridges crossing the stream, yet another tributary of the River Nene, enhance the main street.
Grafton Park Wood, off A43/A604, NE of Kettering between Grafton Underwood and Brigstock. Open most of the year. Boughton Estate woodland used for game bird rearing and shooting. Waymarked walk and picnic area.
