No dogs allowed; refreshments available in car park (privately run, open April to September only), with wooden tables and benches. Disabled parking 330m from entrance to avoid slopes and steps, park near the refreshment area; path to the castle can be muddy in places alternatively, disabled visitors may take their cars along the driveway (marked no entry) to within 15m of castle entrance, closing the gates behind them (please notify custodian in advance if possible). The castle is not for visitors with physical disabilities but it is a rewarding one to visit eleven slightly uneven steps to wooden bridge over moat can be negotiated by wheelchairs. Central court area accessible with assistance. Upper floors reached via steep stairs, some spiralled access to chapel possible for most ambulant disabled visitors good viewpoints from exterior and within courtyard.
