URPoint Details
The village near the estuary of the river Blackwater was a mixture of farming and fishing up to the beginning of this century. The church of St Peter dates from the 11th century and has a fine 18th century altar table.
The Chequers Inn dates from 1500's, and the wheel-turned water pump is still in use.
